Gigawave

Gigawave

The name of Gigawave deserves to be better known than it is.  This company brings all sorts of events into our homes in fabulous close up detail via their radio frequency equipment.  The equipment is used in the transmission of outside broadcasts, security applications and news gathering, but most people see what Gigawave can do through close up shots from Formula One race tracks, grass level at Rugby Football matches and even a bird’s eye view from the New Year’s Fireworks in London.

APC has a long established relationship with Gigawave, having seen the company grow from a small specialist antenna business to a one with a multi-million pound turnover and customers in more than 100 countries.

APC supports the entire IT infrastructure at Gigawave.  The team works alongside the in-house IT manager and staff to provide service, support and supply of office systems and communications.  The service contract has led to APC becoming part sponsors of Gigawave’s Aston Martin DBR9 which will be competing in this season’s FIA GT Motorsport.  The first race at Silverstone promises to give driver, Luke Hines, the opportunity to show his form on home ground; the season ends in Argentina in November.  Gigawave’s onboard cameras will provide live video from track and pit lane that will be streamed on to the APC site together with telemetry data and news items.

Gigawave was founded by Henry Barczynski, who together with directors Jan Barczynski and Peter Haertel, remains at the helm.  He comments: “APC Solutions has proven to be an excellent partner for us.  The support they provide is first class and we are delighted to have an opportunity to get involved with the exciting FIA Motorsport joint sponsorship project.”
