Service providers and Enterprise network operators need to deliver reliable, high-quality broadband service at a low investment to succeed in today.s competitive marketplace. Motorola.s Canopy system is a fixed solution that is part of the MOTOwi4 suite of products. Motorola.s wi4 Fixed solutions provide cost-effective, reliable, scalable wireless broadband access designed for the outdoor environment that supports a variety of complementary and extension applications in the unlicensed/managed spectrums. Motorola.s Canopy solution provides service providers and enterprise network operators a robust wireless broadband portfolio of products to deliver proven cost-effective, secure, field proven broadband access exactly when and where it is needed. The Canopy portfolio provides an array of choices for network operators to select the configuration that consistently provides reliable performance and meets price/performance requirements.

Complementing the existing Canopy portfolio of products, the Canopy 400 Series AP and SM product uses OFDM technology which provides improved nLOS/NLOS coverage. This is an essential solution for many network operators that have deployment opportunities that need connectivity in areas with obstructions or foliage: urban areas with buildings and foliage. In addition to its nLOS/NLOS coverage, the Canopy 400 Series AP and SM provides increased bandwidth . up to 21 Mbps total usable aggregate throughput per sector. The system provides increased range with up to 5 miles (8 km) at lower modulation/throughput levels. The 5.4 GHz spectrum allows network operators almost twice the amount of spectrum that is currently available in the 5.8 GHz bands. The added bandwidth gives more channels in which to co-locate multiple radios on a single rooftop or tower without interference.

Network operators can now offer higher tier broadband services to support services like, data transfer, video, VoIP, and gaming to subscribers who were not previously reachable with Canopy equipment, this product delivers the necessary bandwidth. Canopy 400 Series AP and SM products easily integrate to existing Canopy networks. Canopy 400 Series AP and SM products exhibit the same ease of deployment and reliable operation as the existing Canopy portfolio of products leveraging years of field-proven deployments with added robustness.
