APC Solutions make charitable donations for a variety of good causes and charities in the communities within which we work.
APC is delighted to sponsor Daniel Wilson and Craig Holliday who will be trekking across the Himalayas to raise money for WaterAid.
Nepal is one of the poorest Countries in the World with 3.6 million people not having access to clean, safe drinking water.
Daniel and Craig, who both work for Essex & Suffolk Water, have raised funds for WaterAid before – including taking on some of the highest peaks in the UK to support the charity. Craig, 32 from Witham, Asset Manager for Essex & Suffolk Water, said: “We will be trekking through the beautiful Annapurna range whilst getting the opportunity to see WaterAid’s work in action, which will hopefully inspire us to do more in the future.”
One thing the fundraisers will have to contend with is a slightly hillier terrain than their native Essex. Craig’s co-walker, Daniel, 36 from Braintree, a Project Manager for the water company said: “Taking place in March 2014 we still have some time to train together for the trek although recreating the Annapurna foothills will be difficult in Essex, we therefore plan to spend a weekend or two in the Lake District. “We have a challenging sponsorship target of £7000, but are doing our very best to achieve, and in fact exceed it and are working hard to come up with fundraising ideas both small and large,” he added.
All of the funds raised by the pair will support projects to provide safe drinking water and access to sanitation and hygiene education in Nepal.
Chris Lynch, Technical Director at APC Solutions said: “APC are delighted to be supporting this awesome challenge for an outstanding cause. I am sure Daniel and Craig are both aware the hard work has only just begun, and will make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people across the world,” he said.
The WaterAid committee of Essex & Suffolk Water has a raised more than £100,000 for WaterAid over the past 6 years.

Mick is a member of the GB disabled skier team. Winning medals in Austria and Italy, Mick is now in contention for selection in the mono-ski event at the Winter Paralympics in Sochi 2014.
APC Solutions is delighted to sponsor Mick and in turn help him achieve his goal. Speaking about the sponsorship, Group Technical Director, Chris Lynch comments: “Mick received no compensation for his injuries; narrowly missing out due to the reform of the law. He fought and protected our country and is now representing us through sport. We are humbled to be able to support Mick, and wish him the very best of luck towards achieving his goal of inclusion in the 2014 Russian games. His success and drive is very inspiring and his continued success in Skiing, and his transition to new sit ski equipment, will see him at the top of his game ready to take on the Winter Games. We wish Mick the very best of luck and look forward to supporting him through his journey.”
